Oconee County investigators are looking for two men who robbed the Dollar General in Fairplay on Thursday, December 29, 2011.

Officers were called to the store around 10 p.m.

Employees at the store say the armed robbers tied them up with a telephone cord. They appeared to be two black men dressed in dark clothes with their faces partly covered.

The robbers took an undisclosed amount of money and checks from the cash registers and a safe.

(WALHALLA, SC) – Deputies intercept mobile meth lab on interstate 85.

On October 27, 2011, Oconee County deputies discovered a mobile methamphetamine laboratory during a traffic stop at exit 4 on interstate 85 in Oconee County.

At approximately 11:30 a.m, officers and K-9 units found a package containing materials for cooking methamphetamine in the back of a green Jeep Cherokee after stopping the vehicle for a traffic violation.

Phillip Allen McGee, age 37, of Beach Mountain NC and Savannah Dawn Hughes, age 21, of Roan Mountain TN were both arrested and charged with manufacturing methamphetamine. Both are currently incarcerated at the Oconee County Detention Center.

A hazardous materials contractor was called to the scene to assist in cleaning up and securing the meth-making materials.

On October 27, 2011, Oconee County investigators received confirmation that the small caliber handgun used in the suicide of Laura Gray in Pickens, SC is the same weapon used in the murder of Tylor Garren Stewart on October 23, 2011.

The results of the ballistic testing were received from the South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division on Thursday.

On Sunday, October 23, 2011 at approximately 11:48 p.m., a Pickens County deputy on routine patrol found a body at Lawrence Bridge Boat Ramp after crossing the county line to turn around.

The victim, who is identified as Tylor Garren Stewart of 161 Strawberry Lane in Pickens, SC, had no signs of life when found.

The Coroner’s Office has classified Stewart’s manner of death as a homicide.

Early Monday, investigators from Oconee County, aided by the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office, travelled to the city of Pickens to interview the victim’s girlfriend. While conducting the interview, another resident of the home went to use the restroom and subsequently shot herself. The Pickens Police Department is investigating the incident.

Investigators and forensic teams are continuing to work to piece together details, and further information regarding the victim’s injuries can not be disclosed at this time.

Lamarcus Sharen Brawner, black male age 37, is wanted by the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office in connection with a 1st Degree Burglary (along with other charges) resulting from an August 5, 2011 home invasion and shooting incident in Salem, South Carolina. Surveillance shows this individual inside the pharmacy during the break-in and theft of several bottles of medication. The suspect was seen getting into a small light colored car, which was being driven by another suspect, leaving the area just before officers arrived on scene.

The same suspects are believed to be responsible for an earlier burglary at the Drive Thru Pharmacy in late December 2010.
