Homicide Investigation

(SENECA, SC) – 19-year old man found dead near boat ramp in Seneca.
On Sunday, October 23, 2011 at approximately 11:48 p.m., a Pickens County deputy on routine patrol found a body at Lawrence Bridge Boat Ramp after crossing the county line to turn around.
The victim, who is identified as Tylor Garren Stewart of 161 Strawberry Lane in Pickens, SC, had no signs of life when found.
The Coroner’s Office has classified Stewart’s manner of death as a homicide.
Early Monday, investigators from Oconee County, aided by the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office, travelled to the city of Pickens to interview the victim’s girlfriend. While conducting the interview, another resident of the home went to use the restroom and subsequently shot herself. The Pickens Police Department is investigating the incident.
Investigators and forensic teams are continuing to work to piece together details, and further information regarding the victim’s injuries can not be disclosed at this time.
